I am so glad to hear this! M family went through a horrific week when my father was taken and arrested for acting on a delusion he was having. He was in jail for 3 days without medication for his diabetes and Nuerology meds. They placed him in general populaton. It was horrible and the Denver Police officers would not listen to us about his condition. $3500 later for lawyer fees and when we showed the DA his medical records they let my dad out of jail but while he was in there he tore ligaments in his arm trying to get up on the top bunk. Ended up sleeping on the cement floor for two nights. All should have been avoided and he should have been taken to the hospital instead of jail if the officers would have had training on this disease. Hope Denver police get trained on dealing with Dementia patients as well!
